Infinity Scarf - Free Crochet Pattern

You're not a hat person, yet want a new fun accessory.... what to do? Make an infinity scarf of course!

They are stylish and so quick to make. Make several of them in a variety of colors to have something to match whatever you are wearing! They would also make good gifts!

Finished Size:

Approx 6" wide, and 56" around. Gauge is not super important for this project, but it will change the size slightly if yours if different than mine. Info for how to adjust size below.

Materials:

-6-7 oz of worsted weight yarn of choice. (I used 5.5 oz of Lion Brand Wool-Ease (2 skeins, with a little left over) in all examples except gray, which I used about 6-7 oz of Red Heart Super Saver in Grey Heather. Amount of yarn will depend on how heavy the yarn is, and the Super Saver one came out a bit stiffer.)
-M hook
-Yarn Needle

Pattern:

Pattern Notes:
*You will hold two stands of yarn together as if you are working with one throughout the entire scarf.
*Chs at beginning of each round do not count as a stitch.
*This scarf is made with invisible seam, otherwise the "seam" becomes very visible. A tutorial of how to do that is {coming soon}, but remember to still do the BLO!

Main Part:
ch 120, trying to make sure ch isn't twisted, join with a sl st to first ch made to create a big loop.
Rnd 1: ch 1, sc around in ea ch, join. (120 sc)
*Make sure it is not twisted, it won't be obvious now, but it will later!
Rnd 2: ch 2, working in BLO, dc in ea st around, join. (120 dc)
Rnd 3-5: ch 1, working in BLO, sc in ea st around, join. (120 sc)
Rnd 6: ch 3, working in BLO, trc in ea st around, join. (120 trc)
Rnd 7-9: ch 1, working in BLO, sc in ea st around, join. (120 sc)
Rnd 10: ch 2, working in BLO, dc in ea st around, join. (120 dc)
Rnd 11: ch 1, working in BLO, sc in ea st around, join. (120 sc)
Fasten off.

Chain and Assembly:
1) Make a long chain until it is about the length of the circumference of the scarf, do NOT fasten off.
2) Use your hook to weave the chain (end you started with) through evert other trc.
3) Pull and adjust the chain through so the end you started with is right by where you are going to join it and not hanging out more than a chain or two. Rip out the other end of chain so it's the right size and meets the beginning end right on the scarf, cut, but done fasten off.
4) Tuck two ends to the inside of scarf and with unfinished loop join to first chain with a slip stitch. Fasten off and pull tight.
5) Double knot the two ends together and either weave into the chain.
6) Weave in any other loose ends. You're done!

Size Adjustments:
-To make the scarf larger around, just add more chs to desired length.
-To make it 7.5" wide, repeat Rnd 3 once more after Rnd 1, Rnd 5 once more after Rnd 5, Rnd 9 once more after Rnd 9, and Rnd 11 once more after Rnd 11.
-To make it 6.75" wide, repeat Rnd 5 once more after Rnd 5, and Rnd 9 once more after Rnd 9.
-To make it 5.25" wide, take out Rnd 5 and Rnd 9.
-To make it 4.5" wide, take out Rnds 4-5 and Rnds 8-9.
-To make it 4" wide, take out Rnd 2 and Rnd 10.
-To make it 3.5" wide, take out Rnds 2-3 and Rnds 9-10.
