My grandpa asked me to make him children's hats for an orphanage in the mountains of Mexico that some people in his church are going to. (I'll post about the hats with pictures when they are done.) I have been trying then on my siblings to make sure they fit. I made a smaller size and tried it on Rebekah, and she said that she wanted one. All of her other hats fall off. This one that I made for her has ear flaps and it ties under her chin, so it should stay on. We went to the store and she picked the yarn out and I whipped it up for her in a few hours. I think I am going to make one for myself in the same style, just bigger. I got the pattern from here, and edited it a little. Below are pictures of Rebekah and her hat.
